Stefan Fuehrer specialises in all aspects of commercial law. In addition to general matters, he specialises in (i) corporate & company law, in particular in connection with (international) matters and transactions, and also covers (ii) regulatory & banking and compliance.
His focus is on the conceptualisation and drafting of contracts, advisory work and the necessary enforcement of rights – sometimes in close cooperation with the legal department of companies (‘legal as a service’).
Stefan Fuehrer studied in Vienna, St. Gallen, Madrid and Chicago and holds Master’s degrees in law from the Vienna University of Economics and Northwestern University, Chicago. In addition to numerous stays abroad for study and professional purposes and a career of several years in a major international law firm in Vienna, he successfully passed the bar exam.
This was followed by several years as Head of the Legal & Compliance Department of an international investment bank and the assumption of the management of the Austrian unit. In this context, Stefan Fuehrer gained particular experience in the areas of financing, restructuring/insolvency as well as compliance and anti-money laundering.
Working for an established building materials producer helped him to gain a deeper understanding of the legal challenges faced by industrial companies. As part of his legal practice, Stefan Fuehrer also provides comprehensive legal advice and representation for a leading international industrial group.
It is important to him to offer personal and comprehensible advice as well as to recognise practical problem areas and develop efficient solutions.
